Dr. Puja Prasad completed her bachelor's from Lady Braborne College, University of Calcutta in 2007. After completing her graduation she was selected for the prestigious and highly competitive Integrated Ph.D. program at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc). She completed her master's and Ph.D. in 2014. During her Ph.D. she worked on “metal-based anticancer photodynamic therapeutic agents”. Then she moved to Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA  for her postdoctoral research. At Rutgers University, she worked from June 2014 to September 2015 on biomaterial and drug delivery systems for controlled drug release. She has been awarded highly prestigious and competitive fellowships, such as NPDF from SERB-DST and CSIR-SRA, and has worked at IIT Delhi. At IIT Delhi, she has worked on small molecules and nano-bioconjugates for tackling antimicrobial resistance. She has also developed impedance-based technology for the detection of cfDNA for discrimination of cancer patients with normal. She has also worked on studying cancer-bacteria interaction and the effect of known anticancer drugs on such systems.

Since, July 2022, she is working as an Assistant Professor at Amity Instutute of Click Chemistry Research and Studies, Amity University, Noida
